At Polegate Podiatry & Health Clinic we offer Acupuncture treatments which are carried out by our therapist Nicky Yates.
Acupuncture is a treatment derived from ancient Chinese medicine in which fine needles are inserted at certain sites in the body for therapeutic or preventative purposes. It is used to treat a range of health conditions such as headaches and migraines, lower back pain and osteoarthritis, but is also used in an attempt to help people with conditions ranging from tiredness to anxiety and asthma.
The first appointment with Nicky will be an hour and a half as it involves a full medical history consultation as well as the treatment. The first appointment will cost £50.
Subsequent appointments take 45-60 minutes and range from £25-£60, depending on the treatment.
History of Acupuncture
Traditional acupuncture is a branch of traditional Chinese medicine - a tried and tested healthcare system that has been practiced for thousands of years in China and the Far East. It has been developed, tested, researched and refined over centuries to give us a complex and detailed understanding of the body's energetic balance.
Today, traditional acupuncture is practiced all around the world and clinical trials are now confirming its efficacy. More and more people are able to benefit as traditional acupuncture becomes a recognised option within standard healthcare.
