Massage and Reflexology
Reflexology is based on the theory that there are reflex points on the feet and hands that correspond to every organ, gland, structure and muscle of the body. Gentle pressure is applied to these points in order to stimulate the reflex points and bring about a balance of the bodily systems including:
This enables the body to work together in harmony and unison to create a feeling of overall well-being and optimum health.

Swedish Body Massage
Swedish massage is the original massage technique involving a sequence of movements working superficially and deeper into the tissue layers. The therapist uses a mixture of firm but relaxing strokes to relieve tension in muscles and leave the body feeling relaxed and stress free, providing an overall feeling of well being. Stress buster lasting around 50 minutes.
-Increases blood flow around the body, flushing out waste products and cleansing internal organs
-Improved rate of tissue repair
-Pain relief in muscles and joints
-Reduced stress and tension, relieving physical and mental fatigue
Sports massage is the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of soft tissues of the body including muscles, tendons and ligaments. This therapy works deeper into the tissue than traditional Swedish massage and aims to improve the suppleness and flexibility of muscles and joints. It helps to reduce scar tissue and remove adhesions. It boosts circulation which enhances cell nutrition, and reduces the recovery time of damaged or stressed tissues.
It is applicable not just to sports people but to anybody struggling with soft tissue pain.
How does Sports Massage differ from other types of therapeutic massage?
Some of the basic techniques used in sports massage are the same as those used in other forms of general massage but applied more deeply. However a deep tissue (sports)massage practitioner can utilise other techniques to realign, release and improve muscle and tendon condition. These techniques are Neuromuscular Technique (NMT), Muscle Energy Technique (MET), Soft Tissue Relase (STR), Trigger Point Release and Myofascial Release. These techniques are designed to shift an old or chronic injury back into its acute stage, to trigger the body's natural healing process to complete the process of repair. We can now use low level Laser (LLT) for wound healing post surgery tendonitis, arthritis, etc etc
A regular sports massage is recommended if you are always pushing your body physically in any sporting activity but also in an occupation where the physical demands are high ie; gardening, building, farming or even sitting at a computer screen all day!
